Jolly Old St. Nick

Today is Saint Nicholas Day - a treasured celebration at our house. The boys are in charge of a "surprise" breakfast; the kids get presents in their stockings; and we make gingerbread cookies!

If you look closely you can see that some of our cookies are shaped like a cactus. That's another part of our tradition. My sister lives in Phoenix and sent us a cactus cookie cutter. So we always make a few cactus gingerbread cookies on St. Nicholas Day.

Yeah...breakfast isn't so much of a surprise nowadays...'cause we know it's donuts!
